This isn't a path, that takes you somewhere
This isn't a plan, that ends in something
Before it appears, you'll be left wide open
Alone with your crazy self.
I see danger's love
See danger's cut
It slices eyes afraid to believe in me
I hear silent doubt, staring through it all
It keeps asking, asking
Liana, liana won't change
Whatever it takes she'll wait for you
Don't answer, don't show me the rain
Wherever it breaks
I'll be there too.
That thing unknown
It's a new empty
A constant tone, a constant heavy
Be brave like everyone expects you to be.
I see danger's love
Feel danger's cut
It slices eyes afraid to believe in me
Oh please don't doubt, we'll get through it all
And be wonderful, wonderful
Liana, liana won't change
Whatever it takes she'll wait for you
Don't answer, don't show me the rain
Wherever it breaks
I'll be there too.
We'll meet in that spot on the curve, on the curve right there
We'll meet in our place, on the curve, on the curve up there
We'll meet in that spot on the curve, on the curve right there
We'll meet in our place, on the curve, on the curve UP there
on the curve on the curve UP there.
I picked this one up in advance of a holiday trip. In these times I always need some softer music for my companion which rocks only a little. But "Ghosts on Tape" even rocks a bit more. The album has still edges and corners, it sounds modern and timeless the same time, it is varied, often catchy and dynamic. Even for me as a metalhead BLOOD RED SHOES is a band which transports enough energy and ideas with its electro indie rock to stay sustainably interesting. Check "Sucker". H.L.
The London band's new album is a vibrant postcard from southern Italy, boosted by brass, strings, and pizzica percussion from local players. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 14, 2024

I love Cranes, and I picked up a cassette of Fuse when I saw them at the Leadmill in Sheffield in the early nineties. They once supported 'The Young God's' there, and I saw them several times all those years ago and then at Bestival later on. The last time was in Hackney at the Earth Centre, and it was a fantastic evening! Fuse is a favourite of mine, and I still have my cassette and my 'Wings of Joy' poster. Now it's time for the CD. 💜 All the best to you, Cranes! J232
